Sugar Overload!

Join us in committing to have one more family meal each week at home. You choose! It can be breakfast, lunch, dinner or anything in between. Numerous studies show that home-cooked meals nourish the spirit, brain and health of all family members.
Who doesn’t love a picnic!? Whether you are packing a lunch for the beach or going to a neighbor’s house for a barbecue you will want to try these healthy salads that will satisfy the hungry crowds. In the following recipes I am spotlighting cabbage, which I feel is often overlooked.
Eat Fresh, Eat Local, and Say Hello to Michigan Strawberries
6/29/2018
Michigan Summers are the best! We get to enjoy a variety of outdoor activities and an abundance of fresh fruit and vegetables at our fingertips. One of my favorite things to do each Summer is to pick seasonal fruit and June is the month for strawberries.
The sun is shining and it has definitely warmed up outside. One of my favorite activities this time of year is to walk outside and enjoy the sights and sounds of Spring. Walking is not only one of the most convenient exercises, it has many benefits for your health and wellness, too.
Now that we have adjusted to the time change and it is officially Spring, it feels like a great time to spring clean your wellness routine. That might look like focusing on fueling your body with healthy, clean foods so you feel your best.
The theme for 2018 is “Go Further with Food.” Whether you are starting the day off right with a healthy breakfast of fueling before an athletic event, the foods you choose for each meal can make a real difference.
November is a time to give thanks and celebrate family. The days are getting cooler and we crave comfort food and coziness. We travel great distances and welcome others to our table to spend Thanksgiving together.
The holidays are among us – a time of year that’s known for its busy nature that can lead to stress. After all, you likely have several invitations to gatherings collecting on your counter, a long list of people you need to send holiday cards to, and more.
Eating healthy doesn’t have to be time consuming or costly or even confusing. It can actually be easy, especially this time of year when fresh local foods are all around.
We all lead busy, stressful lives and our health if paying the price. When you take small breaks and live in the moment, put away phones and electronics, a whole new world awaits. By practicing being mindful you can improve your physical health in many ways.
Now that it is starting to feel a little more like Fall, we can enjoy the produce that is at its peak right now! The following fruits and vegetables are not only delicious but full of nutrition. A perfect excuse to get cooking on cool nights.
